OVERVIEW
Album packaging and visual identity for Wolves Among Us, a politically charged California punk band known for aggressive sound, confrontational messaging, and socially driven themes.
The objective was to create artwork that felt raw, urgent, and confrontational, mirroring the band’s intensity and the unrest reflected in their lyrics.
CONCEPT & DIRECTION
The visual approach embraces classic punk aesthetics rooted in protest culture, underground zines, and DIY printmaking. High-contrast black-and-white imagery evokes civil unrest and mass movement, reinforcing themes of political tension, resistance, and social volatility.
A limited neon green accent was introduced as a visual disruptor, symbolizing toxicity, danger, and cultural decay while creating a modern edge that distinguishes the band within the punk scene.
The distressed typography and chaotic compositions were intentionally designed to feel urgent and unpolished, aligning with the genre’s anti-establishment ethos and the band’s uncompromising tone.
EXECUTION
The project included full album packaging design, disc artwork, and printed materials built with a tactile, analog feel reminiscent of screen-printed posters and underground music flyers.
Layout decisions emphasized visual noise, texture layering, and controlled imbalance to create a sense of tension and unease while maintaining hierarchy and readability.
